The Wednesday blu-ray doesn't have the "[barely restrained seething]" subtitle... That's a Netflix-only feature... The disc has the much less inspired "[breath trembling]". It's not all advantages to owning the disc...

I loved how that subtitle captured Jenna's Wednesday.

I can't wait for season two! But I'll have to...

It's a shame Emma didn't get to use her werewolf training this season, maybe next? Wednesday got knocked unconscious a disconcerting amount of times, it's a good thing she has Goody now, might help with the healing.

It's weird how they seemed to have special events every single day, Harvest Festival, Outreach Day, Poe Cup, Raven Dance, Parents Day, etc. Hardly any actual lessons seemed to be happening. Still, instead of more school, I'm hoping for the next season to be set outside the school. And have more Goody Addams, I like a powerful witch.

We're getting the full opening credits in episode one. I think on Netflix we only got them on two episodes and not the first one. Or do I misremember?

We all know the level of detail Jenna puts in her performances, for Wednesday she got formal fencing and cello training, but on her Instagram posts of that time you can see she also had a mechanical typewriter in her apartment back in Romania. In this opening episode Wednesday is very comfortable typing her novel on the old typewriter, but doesn't really know how to work the keyboard of Enid's laptop.

I've read news that despite being on streaming, Wednesday is going to be released on disc as well. Season one will apparently come out on 26 March.

It's the episode with the second of two cello scenes by Jenna in the series. It's my understanding many more were filmed in the series, but they had to be cut because the episodes ran too long. I so hope we get to see them some day.

Apparently it has been 13 years since another Latina actress was nominated for an Emmy as lead.

Two titbits from yesterday's Tudum, Netflix's fan event, that I gather from clips posted:

Wednesday season 2 is going to introduce another Addams Family character. Many people have asked for Cousin Itt to appear, but the cast say they don't know yet who it will be. Also, from the fact that the cast announcing this was Jenna, Emma, Joy and Hunter, you can guess their characters are back.

You is going to be the final season, as announced earlier, and there was no news. Just the suggestion that Joe is going to face (an) opponent(s) related to the many loose ends. The clips to illustrate these loose ends included Jenna Ortega as Ellie. My favourite story would be where Ellie and Nadia team up to take Joe down.

Interesting how the Netflix video to announce this year's Tudum event (17 June) says there's also going to be an announcement about Wednesday. Weird because season 2 was already announced and it hasn't even been written yet.

Also they suggest an announcement for Queen Charlotte, which I thought was a one season spin-off of Bridgerton.

Scream VI is released in Dutch cinemas tomorrow, Thursday 9 March. In the US it is released Friday.

While with the success of Wednesday on Netflix a go-ahead for season two seems only natural, here are my completely uninformed thoughts about it: it has become clear that there can't be a Wednesday season two or any offshoot of the Addams Family universe in film, without Jenna Ortega. She's been so much the center of the success. And if I were Jenna, which I'm not, I'd want in this case to see scripts before committing. So chicken and egg... Maybe a series of independent Wednesday films are most likely.

Before Wednesday Jenna Ortega had 8 million followers on Instagram, which I think is a lot, and with the Wednesday promotion going on it had creeped up to 9 million. I was wondering whether the release would lift it over the 10 million. Now, a week after the release, she has 16.6 million followers on Instagram. I guess people like what she did.

It was totally amazing. I want a season two. It's showing such great judgement by Jenna Ortega of presenting exactly the right kind and amount of internal torment to hook you on the character and the story, while also being true to the version we know who had her emotionless one-liners as a support character but which wouldn't work for leading eight episodes. This works. But we know, and many people say it, Jenna always delivers.
