Starting a rewatch of His Dark Materials, all the way from series one, because series three starts soon. This was the first time I saw Dafne Keen and the reason I watched Logan. I think most people will have seen her in Logan first and be very impressed by her and the intensity of the character, but also seeing her first in His Dark Materials impresses a lot.
Watching it on HBO Max instead of my blu-ray, because views count in this day and age. Production and tv companies really look at views and social media engagement to decide who to hire, what kind of show to commission. Record companies look at number of likes whether to finance a tour. Casting people look at imdb rankings, which are based in part on searches. It's unfair, but to support your faves, engage.

I was actually thinking of this recently when walking in the Austrian countryside - lots of small settlements worldwide get stub articles and I bet tons of them could get pictures added.
I've not had good experiences editing Wikipedia in the past, though, which makes me reticent to invest too much time on it... there's lots I'd like to add but I've found editors far too keen to just snipe out one's work based on flimsy interpretations of the notability guidance.

I finally succeeded in putting the Wordpress media files on S3 and served by cdn, on a test site. This should not have stumped me this much, there's a plugin for it to help and I managed to configure it on Pleroma and PeerTube without the help of a plugin. Maybe these have better instructions...
One of the issues was that the instructions of W3 Total Cache said to give minimal S3 access permissions to the access key but doesn't say what that is, so I did GetObject, PutObject and DeleteObject but that doesn't work. Blog posts acknowledge this and say to just give full permissions. Fortunately AWS had a list and it also needs ListBucket, GetObjectAcl and PutObjectAcl. Even if Acl's are disabled. Just ignore that the test upload doesn't work. Also ignore people who say that the S3 bucket needs to be open to the public.

Jenny Ortega is nigh on perfect as Wednesday. Gwendoline Christie is clearly enjoying her role. In fact I can't immediately think of any bad casting in the major roles.

Gomez just felt alien to me - nothing of the Raul Julia character or even the comedy of the TV series actor. (name escapes me)
The scenes between the two of them just felt awkward - they're definitely not ripping each others clothes off behind closed doors.
That aside - I absolutely adore it and I'm about to start a second watch!
