Disappearing followers
!Friendica Support
I used to have a mutual connection between my Friendica account and my Mastodon and Pleroma accounts. Yesterday I noticed that on Friendica the accounts were listed as one-way, as if they were not following my Friendica account anymore. I confirmed that both on the Pleroma and the Mastodon server, my Friendica account was still listed as followed, but no posts were coming in. I've found that this has also happened with accounts that aren't me.
For my own accounts I have of course simply fixed it by doing a quick unfollow-follow. I'm trying to figure out what happened and whether it can happen again, but am not getting anywhere by looking in logs or db (am on recent stable, all up to date). Does anybody recognise this behaviour, or is this only on my server? Is there anything I can look at in the db to recognise which contacts are not followers anymore but no Undo-Follow activity was received? E.g. Pleroma stores all received activities.
Me to myself: remember to not throw coffee over a wooden table.
As if I did that on purpose.

This is why people / I keep ordering from amazon instead of local shops:
Amazon site in my country: Yes, we have this book in stock and can send it to you, free shipping
Main web shop in my country: This book is not released yet. Also, there will be shipping charges
Local book store: You must be kidding, this book does not exist

It's weird and I don't have an idea yet what could be behind it, but somewhere between 19-30 August hashtags stopped being received on posts coming in from some accounts. Doesn't seem to be one server that's the problem, or one hashtag. So far I find some Mastodon accounts that no longer have working hashtags in their posts, but most Mastodon accounts are ok...
Edit: it's the creation time of the post that matters, not the time it is received.
Edit edit: the issue is local to my server; on other servers the same posts, accounts and hashtags work fine.

The inability to balance on one leg for 20 seconds or longer is linked in otherwise healthy people to an increased risk of small blood vessel damage in the brain and reduced ability to understand ideas.
This is not a link I was expecting. (I can't do this at all...)

Fun to find out they were thinking of crediting Chloë for all departments, like lighting, hair, makeup, wardrobe, grip. For over two weeks they shot scenes with her in a cramped space where they couldn't do these things, so Chloë had to do it herself.
Less fun if you realise she's claustrophobic...

The haul of yesterday actually, arriving piecemeal today with stragglers later this week.
It's been too long that I've seen a new film with Chloë Grace Moretz...

A #Friendica tip, at least something I didn't know yet and just found out, is that when you're on the network timeline and you open the left side menu where the forums you're subscribed to are listed, like in this screenshot:
you can click on either the name or the icon of the forum. When you click the name, your network timeline gets filtered to show only the posts from that forum. This is similar to when you click groups or protocols in that same menu.
When you click the icon however, you get directed to the page of that forum itself, on the remote server. This could be useful if some posts have since expired on your own server.
I noticed this when clicking the icon of a non-Friendica group (gup.pe or zap), where the redirect was not possible and an ugly php error was the result. Anyway, it's a neat function.
I'm about to import my follows list from Pleroma into Friendica. This means that several accounts will be getting a follow notification from my Friendica account, including people who have not posted in a while. That may seem strange. I apologise in advance. Also to those people who have locked accounts and that I was following from Pleroma already. Please feel free to either accept or reject, or do nothing, it's completely up to you.
Thanks for everybody's understanding.

I don't understand the UK fuel crisis. In a country lead by a very right wing government, which likely believes in the market forces of supply and demand, you would expect that low supply (truck drivers) and normal demand (fuel) would be met with higher resource costs (truck driver wages) to let the market stabilise itself. And higher investment in truck driver training if needed.
Instead they are wining about drivers from low income countries having gone home, after they kicked them out. And are deploying the army to deliver fuel, presumably for free, until the drivers from the low income countries come back on temporary visas. As if they would knowing they are only going to get kicked out again.

One of the problems here is that low supply has hit rock bottom: there is no supply left. Its not just the European truck drivers who have left the country, but also European waiters, bricklayers, chefs, plumbers, electricians, you name it. Logistics companies are basically left with poaching drivers from each other. Thats great for drivers wages (and these have been too low for ages), but it doesn't help with the fuel supply.
All this has been foreseen of course. This government is not for long-term thinking. It believes in some magic form of free market, in which any demand is immediately magically matched with supply.

With so many streaming services being American only, being a fan is often like this:
actress to her worldwide audience: I'm in a new show!
we the fans: yay!
actress: it's on paramount+! (or hulu, or hbomax, or ...)
we: oh. well, have fun. tell us how it was. can somebody make screencaps?
While it used to be in the olden days of broadcast television:
actress: i can't talk about any new project yet, it's a big secret
(months go by)
pr for new show: show x will star your favs and begins tomorrow!
(much fanfare. appearances on all talk shows)
non-us fans: we are geo-blocked, why?
some faq: all countries want to have their own control over how and when to release and market, so there are separate licence agreements
(years go by)
some local tv station: *broadcasts show in complete silence so we all miss it*
(meanwhile)
amazon: no, we are not allowed to ship this dvd to your country

Unknown parent • •@Michael Vogel Yes. I admit it is a rather niche use case. On an account that had been in use for a while, I imported contacts from a Pleroma export. Then some days later I imported contacts from a Mastodon export. These lists did contain duplicates, including some accounts that were also following me. These got their relationship changed; however, the good news is that this is apparently not happening 'randomly'.
I think line 2433 of Contact.php is to blame (line 2465 on develop):
$new_relation = (($contact['rel'] == self::FOLLOWER) ? self::FRIEND : self::SHARING);This is executed for updating existing contacts in the import process. However, when the contact already has
relset toFRIEND, it gets reset toSHARING.
