A #Friendica tip, at least something I didn't know yet and just found out, is that when you're on the network timeline and you open the left side menu where the forums you're subscribed to are listed, like in this screenshot:
you can click on either the name or the icon of the forum. When you click the name, your network timeline gets filtered to show only the posts from that forum. This is similar to when you click groups or protocols in that same menu.
When you click the icon however, you get directed to the page of that forum itself, on the remote server. This could be useful if some posts have since expired on your own server.
I noticed this when clicking the icon of a non-Friendica group (gup.pe or zap), where the redirect was not possible and an ugly php error was the result. Anyway, it's a neat function.

I'm about to import my follows list from Pleroma into Friendica. This means that several accounts will be getting a follow notification from my Friendica account, including people who have not posted in a while. That may seem strange. I apologise in advance. Also to those people who have locked accounts and that I was following from Pleroma already. Please feel free to either accept or reject, or do nothing, it's completely up to you.
Thanks for everybody's understanding.

I don't understand the UK fuel crisis. In a country lead by a very right wing government, which likely believes in the market forces of supply and demand, you would expect that low supply (truck drivers) and normal demand (fuel) would be met with higher resource costs (truck driver wages) to let the market stabilise itself. And higher investment in truck driver training if needed.
Instead they are wining about drivers from low income countries having gone home, after they kicked them out. And are deploying the army to deliver fuel, presumably for free, until the drivers from the low income countries come back on temporary visas. As if they would knowing they are only going to get kicked out again.

One of the problems here is that low supply has hit rock bottom: there is no supply left. Its not just the European truck drivers who have left the country, but also European waiters, bricklayers, chefs, plumbers, electricians, you name it. Logistics companies are basically left with poaching drivers from each other. Thats great for drivers wages (and these have been too low for ages), but it doesn't help with the fuel supply.
All this has been foreseen of course. This government is not for long-term thinking. It believes in some magic form of free market, in which any demand is immediately magically matched with supply.

Happy Birthday @jennaortega!
Jenna Ortega is a great actress you know from You, The Babysitter: Killer Queen, Yes Day and will know from The Fallout, Scream and of course Wednesday where she plays the Wednesday Addams. I hope she has a great day!

With so many streaming services being American only, being a fan is often like this:
actress to her worldwide audience: I'm in a new show!
we the fans: yay!
actress: it's on paramount+! (or hulu, or hbomax, or ...)
we: oh. well, have fun. tell us how it was. can somebody make screencaps?
While it used to be in the olden days of broadcast television:
actress: i can't talk about any new project yet, it's a big secret
(months go by)
pr for new show: show x will star your favs and begins tomorrow!
(much fanfare. appearances on all talk shows)
non-us fans: we are geo-blocked, why?
some faq: all countries want to have their own control over how and when to release and market, so there are separate licence agreements
(years go by)
some local tv station: *broadcasts show in complete silence so we all miss it*
(meanwhile)
amazon: no, we are not allowed to ship this dvd to your country
As we're getting ready for the S3 release of @YouNetflix on 15 October, I'm eagerly scanning all clues they post on social media for any sign of Ellie / @jennaortega returning in season three. None so far...
Though Ellie could be wearing the baseball cap of invisibility...

That went fine and is running smoothly. All memory that became available by removing the db got claimed by the app processes almost immediately. Almost like one of those concrete walls soaking up fresh paint.
Now wondering why loading/proxying remote images locks up everything.

I shouldn't have switched that worker daemon back on. It is only inventing more work for itself.
