The thing happened again that happened before but for which I have no solution: /run on the server was full due to efs slowly filling it. Just remounting clears it, but some mounts are in use by applications so I can't just remount everything. Anyway, stopped the apps since they weren't responding anyway so I could remount all. Now the worker queue is handling the backlog.
