My gf can't get Mastodon Web UI to display on her 'phone's browser (just a blank screen). I blamed it on "bloody Chrome". However, when I tried to demonstrate it working on my browser (Privacy Browser), it also had a blank screen.

JavaScript, cookies and web storage are all enabled. Both browsers were able to display Mastodon pages until recently.

Anyone have an idea what might going on?

have you tried any of the alternative web interfaces, to see how they fare? I often use https://phanpy.social for instance, which you then connect to your account and which works great on my phone.

@mindshoot
Yeah , seems to work there. Problem may also be specifically for mstdn.io.

annoying - I'm also on team "bloody chrome" in that case! Hope you get it sorted...
in reply to Fitheach

just tried it - works fine here, even in privacy browser.

Are you maybe filtering something on your network?

in reply to Fitheach

ah, no just fosstodon.org.

Just tried mstdn.io. There I am indeed getting a blank page in PB. It works fine in FF Focus.

in reply to Fitheach

@Fitheach Your server does indeed not open for me (mobile chrome), while mastodon[.]social or .online work fine in the same browser.

It's specific to mstdn.io - I just visited the site in Edge and Brave on Windows and it doesn't load there either.

Maybe @admin needs to do some poking around. Turn something off and on again.

@matt
Thanks.
You're right. The problem seems to be specific to mstdn.io. mastodon.social, for example, loads fine in Privacy Browser and Chrome.

Tested my own Mastodon account using the Fulguris web browser and it worked fine. The problem definitely seems to be domain and browser (settings) specific. Annoying!
in reply to Fitheach

Oooh, I use Fulguris, it seems very good in general.

@Jkp
This issue has had me installing and testing lots of browsers.

I quite liked Fulguris. However, I couldn't see how I could have domain specific settings (e.g. cookies and js).
