A thing I sometimes wonder if I hallucinated is a brief national panic in the late ‘80s over “the Jennifers,” because that was when the first wave of Gen X women started entering the workforce, and lots of those first-wave Gen X women were named Jennifer so the media started referring to them collectively as “the Jennifers,” and Boomer women were panicking that their Boomer husbands would meet a young Jennifer at work and run away with her.I swear I remember this “issue” being agonized over in national magazines
